Dear Sisyphus, Today I Got Some Sun
My Dear Friend Sisyphus,
Today I ate a full meal and went to the beach. Afterwards I lifted a really heavy rock.
My ancestor appeared. He told me “that stone was my resting place, until you return it to rest, You will know no contentment.”
I tried putting it back, but I was tired then and couldn't do it.
Then, I went on a walk with some friends.
We ate fries in the grocery store while looking at frozen foods.
I wanted to ask them to lift the rock with me, but they were all busy.
I also got a call from mom. She said “You and your brother, Its like you forgot me”
But she lives in new jersey and thats a long drive. Ill have to plan a whole day to go out there, and then Steph would make me go get pastrami at Marginello’s, just cause she doesn't like what they got here. And thats an extra hour and a half.
I bought flowers for the office, just to see what would happen. But everyone just walked right past it. They must've thought it was a janitor or something.
They have ads in the subway for balding creams, and prescription eye glasses. Can you believe that? Its like the whole city turned old overnight.
They changed the billboard that you can see from the kitchen to an old man with glasses and he looks right into the house.
It scares the bejesus out of me sometimes.
When we eat breakfast, he looks right on top of Steph's head, like hes in the room. When I pointed it out, she told me I should grow up. I guess it wasn't that funny.
I saw a couple of birds.
I think im going to start exercising again, for this whole rock thing.
Marcus is on a trip with Pierre, I swear they've been on a honeymoon trip for the past six months.
Im starting to understand how people talk about you and how you feel.
Im trying to do right, I really am.
Your Friend.
