whisk heavy cream in bowl until bubbles start to thicken the mixture, before fully thick add sugar and fold / beat in.

the process in which is most preffered for the beating of cream would be a direct side to side whisking. beating the cream in such a way creates the most sheer forces within therby liquid, increasing the rate inwhich air finds itself encoated by milk.
It is encouraged to chill the bowl and whisk in the icebox for a second before this process. I have found that tempature changes the total heft of the cream.
